Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Programme

The MBSR Programme is an intensive, 8-week training course taught by certified trainers Denise Washkansky and Debbie Grusd.  Weekly classes include a variety of practices, life skill presentations and discussion. Home practices are provided each week to increase the integration of learning into daily life. 

Everyone can benefit from mindfulness and meditation. Some participants are seeking help with stress, burnout, or insomnia.  Others with illness, pain, anxiety, depression, anger, grief or other. And yet others, just want to deepen in mindful awareness and live more present lives. 

The course is well-structured and uses an intelligent, tried-and-tested methodology.  It is specifically designed as an introduction to mindfulness but also is a good refresher course for those with prior experience. 

The programme was developed in 1979 by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts and is now being run in over 600 clinics worldwide. Research has clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of the MBSR programme in heightening awareness and reducing stress.
