Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Programme

The MBSR Programme is an intensive, 8-week training course taught by certified trainers Denise Washkansky and Debbie Grusd.  Weekly classes include a variety of practices, life skill presentations and discussion. Home practices are provided each week to help integrate the teachings into daily life. 

Everyone who practices mindfulness and meditation will benefit. Some gain help with stress or burnout.  Others with illness, chronic pain, anxiety, or depression. There are many other benefits but for many participants it is simply a way of learning to be more present and live with more awareness. 

The course is well-structured and uses an intelligent, tried-and-tested methodology.  It is specifically designed as an introduction to mindfulness but also is a good refresher course for those with prior experience. 

The programme was developed in 1979 by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts and is now being run in over 600 clinics worldwide. Research has clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of the MBSR programme in heightening awareness and reducing stress.

The course fee includes:

  • 8 weekly sessions of 2 hours each
  • A half or full day retreat 
  • A workbook
  • Guided Audio Meditations 
  • Tea and Coffee (not during Covid)
